History

Nagambie HealthCare is now a not-for-profit organisation that has had significant history. First established in 1929 as a Bush Nursing Hospital that consisted of 15 acute hospital beds facilitating emergency services for its local community. Then, in 1993 acquired an additional 21 beds that were funded by the community to provide low care nursing home accommodation, which was supported by the move in 2008 in developing a 6 home retirement village. The Hospital was eventually closed, only to be re-opened by the community, then renamed by the board, and now comprises of 42 beds in total which are approved and certified with the Department of Health and Aged Care to provide residential aged care services including low dependency, residential and acute care.
